A traditional Shepherd Neame pub with a choice of three handpulled ales, Spitfire, Whitstable Pale and Master Brew. I went for the Whitstable Pale which was flavourless, should have gone for the Spitfire. The pub was busy on our Wednesday afternoon visit, mostly locals and a few visitors popping in for a bite to eat. The interior had lots of dark timbers and both sides of the pub was served by a central island bar. The décor had a nautical theme, with sailors knots displayed in picture frames etc. There was also an interesting display of tankards hanging from the ceiling in the right hand room, where you can find a welcoming open fire in the Winter months.

Compact and comfortable pub that has an island bar and serves 2 real ales.Nice outside drinking area that is a stones throw from the beach.
