Some new wallpaper in the lounge but otherwise remains a tidy old school local. My pint of Youngs Bitter was extremely good (NBSS 4)

A pub that is resolutely clinging on to tradition - a two bar local boozer interior where public and lounge are very clearly differentiated. Lounge bar is cosy in a 70's way, with a nice real fire. The public bar is loud, has darts, pool and the football on the telly. Landlady Eva is a character. Two real ales (usually Courage Best and Youngs Bitter) normally in good form. Owned by Enterprise so suspect that once Eva leaves this place will be not be viable unless the freehold is sold on, due to the cut-price competition over the road. Worth popping in if you like traditional locals and a decent ale - the bus drops off close by.
