Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Royal Oak Hotel

Substantial pub / restaurant / hotel in a prominent position on the Highgate crossroads. Looks traditional from outside, although the thoroughly refurbished is more modern than one might expect (a big change from the periodically rough old place it once was back in the day). Large bar / dining area along the centre and right-hand part of the frontage, but with further dining rooms at the back and (for functions) to the left. Two stronger cask ales -Sharp's Sea Fury and the local (if oddly unseasonal) Fireside from Cellar Head (£6.00 with a packet of peanuts) - available from the pair of handpumps.
