Named after the 19th Century industrialist and liberal politician, the Richard Cobden is a Victorian corner pub which has an Irish theme. They frequently hold Irish music nights, I am told, although it was very quiet when we visited. It's very much a local boozer, run down and shabby, no real ale, the locals are unwelcoming and the staff were unable to smile. There is a main bar with tatty furnishings and a smaller area to the rear. There isn't much to recommend it and I don't expect I'll return.
