Now a gay bar, very out, very loud and very proud. It was a bit of fun, as camp and queer as you could imagine, we had a laugh and some good banter even though we weren’t their target demographic. There was no draft beer, no bottled beer, just fruit ciders – appropriately enough. Lily Allen was blasting out over the hifi, and there was a large neon sign saying ‘Entrance’ – I hope that referred to the front door rather than the back passage. It was friendly, but just not up my alley.

This pub mainly advertises its kitchen, and on our brief visit on Saturday had some people seated for lunch. I noticed two hand pumps offering Doombar only, which I didn’t fancy so we went down the road to the White Hart instead. It may well be good at what it does but it just didn’t strike me as a very inspiring place to have a pint.

Not a review as we walked past this pub, but I chuckled at a sign on the wall outside. "Man creche - leave your man here to be fed and watered while you do the shopping". Brill.
