Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Canterbury Tales
Recently reopened pub, located directly opposite the Marlow Theatre so very much in the market for pre-performance and interval drinks. However, it has been refurbished in an upmarket semi-traditional style, so the clientele is wider than just that. Created from two adjoining buildings, the bar is in the centre of the main part, with the lounge (and log-burner) on the right-hand side and The Snug off to the right. Harvey's (£5.45) and something from a Timothy Taylor clip with a handwritten 'Innkeeper' label from two of the three handpumps.

Previously The Mitre, the pub is now mainly a venue for theatre-goers to have a swift before, after or half-time theatre drink. The barman was friendly enough, but it lacked atmosphere and didn’t have a pub feel. No real ale, the only beers on offer were Neck Oil and Barney’s Lager. Probably not worth including in a crawl.

I've only been here the once but made a point of visiting due to reviews I'd read elsewhere, eg; Good Pub Guide. However, it was really rather disappointing.
The night we visited there was only one other person in there! They'd made an effort with candles on each table, but the whole place was tired looking and slightly smelly. Two of the beers were off leaving only Greene King IPA, and they appeared to have some interesting lagers on tap, but again the San Miguel was off. But at £6 for a pint of IPA and a bottle of Corona, I for one certainly wont be back!
