Semi-traditional Shepherd Neame pub on the narrow road down to the harbour, opened out to leave a L-shaped layout (with a small snug area to the left of the entrance). Pizza-based menu. Master Brew and Whitstable Bay Pale (4.80) being served from two of the five handpumps.

Have to agree with the previouse review. Visited in December 2010 and although it was a nice day outside within it was extreamly cold (both temperature and welcome wise).
The beer on that visit was also of poor quality and there seemed not effort to enguage with customers (of which we were the only ones) or turn the heating on.
A great shame as this is a good looking pub both inside and out, even the view from the back yard up the lane of (former) fishermens cottages would easily class as quaint. Unfortunatly, although it was clean and tidy, there just didn't seem to be any enthusium for running a pub!

Visited this pub a few days ago and was very disappointed. Had 2 pints of spitfire which were both poor due to lack of proper cellar management. There were only a few punters in the bar and they appeared to be mates of the rather humourless landlord. There was no atmosphere and I was glad to move onto the Wrotham Arms, a far better pub.
