Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Powell

Imposing building in the old centre of Birchington (a short walk from the more recent commercial area closer to the station). Features a three-part interior, with a bar in the centre, traditional tables in the dining room to the right and more modern furniture in the restaurant area on the other side. Also has a sizeable front patio beer garden. Two local Wantsum beers on handpump: Imperium best bitter (£4.50) and Grim Reaper ruby red ale.

A really homely pub in the heart of the largest village in Kent. The upstairs of the Powell Arms is The Belfrey Restaurant which serves excellent freshly prepared food at an affordable price. To my mind probably the best value for money restaurant in Thanet and possibly East Kent.
