Strongers . left this review about The George Hotel

A band was set up at the rear of the George Hotel and the bar along the right hand wall was very busy with Friday night revellers during my visit last week. To the left of the entrance is some seating and the décor is very basic.
The bar is stocked with standard draught and the three hand pumps were drawing Sharp’s Doom Bar, Fuller’s London Pride and Ringwood’s 49er.

I saw nothing here to make me recommend this place to others.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The George Hotel

This ancient inn had fallen into a very bad state but thankfully has been substantially refurbished. The exterior looks rather good now but the interior (whilst much less tatty than before) has lost a greater deal of character over time. There is a long bar along one side of the central corridor with a couple of smaller rooms now opened out on the other, and a patio beer garden in an alley to one side at the back. It is also doing real ale again, and although only one of the handpumps was working there was nothing wrong with my reasonably-priced pint of Bombardier. The food menu also looks better than before, and they also do accommodation. Hardly great, but a distinct improvement.
