More a restaurant where you can also get a drink, this is an old building with original features with a small bar by the entrance. The four handpumps dispence Adnams Broadside,Old Speckled Hen,GK IPA and St Austell Tribute which was perfectly palatable and there are modern seats around the bar and to the left for drinkers but the candles in jars give away the restaurant emphasis of this place. The restaurant extends over several rooms and is traditional and stylish. The chef and maitre d' are both french and fish is a focus on the menu, the wine list solid. However a three course evening meal with wine will set you back around £50 per head ,so you pay a full price for the upmarket fare.
