Bucking Fastard left this review about The Squirrel

Probably dating from the early 60's,an estate pub proudly noting on the pub sign that it's a free house, but one devoid of ale.The entrance leads to an interior which winds around a central bar and a lot of the interior may well not have changed since it's opening.A Benskins sign might indicate the brewer who built the pub.
There is a lot of dark brown wood ,bench end dividers,a raised section to the left of the front door stuffed with sofas and worn bench seating opposite the bar.Down a dog leg is a games room with a pool table and darts, while the flatscreen was showing terrestrial sport.A small book exchange was in an alcove dominated by a fruit machine.
It was deadly quiet and three handpumps stood folorn and unused.Just multinational keg crap with Stella at £2.65 the half seeming the best option. No reason to revisit.
