I popped my head into this pub a few months ago on a Friday night and ended up staying all evening. They have a Karaoke evening on a Friday and it was so entertaining I was mesmerised – they have a selection of beers on tap which are very competitively priced as well – I ended up taking a taxi home! The talents of the Karaokists were truly amazing. I have popped in there on a Friday on a number of occasions since. I also discovered (while watching the Karaoke) that there are regular live bands appearing on a Saturday evening as well. Since I had enjoyed myself so much on the Karaoke evenings (the local clientele were very friendly and I felt very much at home), I tried the Saturday night last week end. I hadn’t had time to eat beforehand but fortunate they serve Indian food in the evenings, which I had and again, found it very reasonably priced, not to mention delicious. I enjoyed the evening immensely.
I have called in on a number of occasions since that first Friday evening and taken advantage of their lunch time meals - £1 can you believe?
To summarise, I found the bar staff and the licensee very friendly, the pub is generously spaced and they have a full sized pool table if you’re into Pool and of course there is the ubiquitous juke box and two dartboards. There are ample seating arrangements and a small outdoor area at the front of the pub should you wish to get some fresh air, I would think it would be very pleasant in the summer. The pub was generally very clean and the toilets were of an acceptable standard. I would certainly recommend this pub.
