Unabashed old school interwar boozer, looks like it hasn't seen any changes for 30 years. Two room interior, left hand side is public bar with darts, pool and sports TV. Right room is more a lounge area. The carpet throughout is fairly new but the rest of the décor is aged, including the tongue and groove panelling; you could shoot a scene of Life on Mars in here and only have to spend a few quid to get it right back to 1975. Three ales over the two bars, Waddies 6X, Fullers London Pride and Courage Directors (decent form). The locals found us a curiosity and the landlord seemed faintly incredulous that we wanted halves rather than pints but knuckled down. Cricket on the TV. Fairly busy and good to see it surviving - I started to develop a soft spot for it the longer I stayed.
