Cosy village local that is now the only one of the 3 Sandridge pubs to be listed in the Good Beer Guide. However, the cask ale range of Side Pocket For A Toad, Abbot & Atlantic doesn't seem to change. Unfortunately, I missed the Old Rosie clip, which at least made it one of only two pubs we found in Hertfordshire with a decent cider. Neck Oil was on keg, along with Thatcher's Gold cider.
The interior consists of a carpeted room around a central bar, with a conservatory to the rear. Beers are fetched direct from the cask from a cold room off to the right-hand side, which creates a little more work for the bar staff. There was a large Christmas Tree just to the left of the entrance.

The smaller of the three pubs in Sandridge but with mainly the same lunchtime clientele, Sandridge’s aged populace either dining out or meeting with friends. The pub does have quite a nice community feel to it and is well looked after. There are both covered and uncovered seating areas outside looking out across the fields. Beers were GK IPA. OSH and Black Sheep. I visited during the St Albans Beer Festival and there were posters and beermats advertising the event and the landlord had a festival shirt on so I imagine they are supporters of real ale.

A nice little local with four decent ales on (though fairly mainstream in choice - Greene King, Tetley, Black Sheep) served from gravity. Dart board available. Nice views from the back of the pub across the fields. Landlord has been here for over 20 years, apparently.
