Strongers . left this review about The White Lion
The White Lion is a single room pub with a mix of high tables and standard furniture. There is a bar on the left hand wall that is stocked with standard draught products and supports six hand pumps. During my recent Friday night visit these were drawing Old Golden Hen, Greene King IPA, Abbot Ale, Robinson’s Dizzy Blonde, Ruddles and White Lion. Food is available with the mains costing between £8 and £14 and there is also a children’s menu.
There was some low background music playing and I didn’t spot any televisions for showing live sport etc. There was an advertisement for the weekly quiz that takes place every Tuesday from 20:00. Out the back is a beer garden that I did not visit.
After encountering some very rude service in the Star of India curry house across the road it was nice to find some polite and friendly staff working here. I can see why it was busy during my visit because I would return if in the area.

Had the pleasure of eating there with my wife, atmosphere good, great steaks, well presented food and friendly knowledgeable staff. Broad selection of wines and the draught Abbott is "bang on".
Apparently there is a beer festival from Friday 29th April well worth a look!!
