A proper pub on the London Road with a sizeable beer terrace to the exterior front.Inside there are two halves,left to essentially the public bar with fruit machines,pool table,sports flatscreen,while right is the lounge with another sports flatscreen above a brick fireplace on mute and leading around the side to a decent sized restaurant in the conservatory.All the front bay windows have small banquettes fitted in the recess and the welcome from behind the bar was genuine and friendly.
Pub grub with mains around £16,there is a real community feel with a weekly meat raffle,bingo,karaoke,live music and so on and the pub felt neat,tidy and very well run.
At the bar the usual keg suspects but three operational handpumps with TT Landlord,Robinsons Trooper and Tiny Rebel x Titanic Dunk,most enjoyable ,NBSS Very Good.
If I lived locally this would be my boozer of choice,I look forward to a return visit.
