Steve of N21 left this review about The Unicorn
The Unicorn is in an area called Gallows Hill, Just south of Kings Langley Railway station and a short drive from Junction 20 of the M25.
Outside it’s a decent looking old style pub with a fairly large car park to the side.
Internally the smallish bar area greets you as you walk through the front door. The beer choice is not extensive but the bar does support two hand pumps which were dispensing Adnams Bitter and Fullers London Pride, and both were kept well.
There are two bar areas to each side of the main serving area. The left is a more comfortable dining area with comfy chairs and a large brick fire place which is non operational. The right hand side is a bit plainer but does benefit from the matching large brick fireplace being operational and this was a very cosy place to sit on the cold March afternoon we visited.
The food menu was reasonably priced traditional pub fair and what we tried was very good.
Both bars go back behind the main serving area and meet up before the back door to the garden area.
Outside there is a patio area covered by one of those giant Jumbreallas , and I imagine this would be a good place for a pint on a summers evening.
And also, it appears that there is regular live music sessions on a Friday and Saturday night according to the ‘What’s On’ posters around the bar and in the Gents..
Despite the not very extensive beer choice I found this to be a decent pub and will certainly visit again when I need a watering hole close to J20 of the M25.
