This was a McMullens new build in the early eighties and the chosen location provides excellent views of the M10 link road. But I guess the primary reason for the location was to make it easy to drive to whilst avoiding Hoddesdon Town centre, and this it does once you have worked out what slip road to take off the roundabout.
It hasn’t changed much since it was built, except for a couple of face lift redecorations and it remains a more family orientated pub focussing on food. Internally the décor is more aligned to a posh hotel bar with overly bright lighting than a traditional pub look but no real problem with that and it fits a purpose. It does attract a younger clientele in the evenings, but I’ve always found it a bit of a sterile place and as you can pick up the same McMullens ales all over Hertfordshire I only tend to visit when dragged in by Hoddesdon resident relations.

This pub has been newly refurbished.There is a no smoking policy throughout the pub but there is a heated veranda outside where you can smoke til your hearts content. The food is excellent and very reasonable.Its my local pub and I would highly recommend it.
