Bucking Fastard left this review about The Silver Fox
This village pub has a clear identity,it's the place to watch Sky and BT Sports.Tied to Greene King, the entrance is into the tap room with a small seating section to the right, the L shaped bar has the handpumps to the side, before a step down to a seperate pool room with seating and then the kitchen, pumping out pub grub.
To the left is a raised area with fitted bench seating in the bay window and along the side and two woodburners inset to gaps in the dividing wall ,one lit and pumping out a good amount of heat on a wet morning. There are two flatscreens ,both thankfully on mute with no live action on and the muzak soundtrack was not too loud and helped the atmosphere when the pub is quiet. The walled beer garden is through some french windows and the welcome was friendly.
Sadly the tie meant that the ale options were GK IPA and Abbot, but at least this was pulled through before serving ,and the conditioning was good, although it's not really to my taste,NBSS 3.
Solid village boozer,I would use it for live sport but not for a session due to the GK tie.
