A little away from the immediate town centre and seemingly isolated (you won’t get tourists in here) is this 100% burpy, sweary, 100% polyester shirted sausage-fest. A bit of character inside though, the little side snug off left was nice (if deserted) whilst the quarry floored tiled bar wraps round to another small room at the rear. There’s also a sizeable rear garden featuring a large rendering of Mr Angry. Banks Amber was the only cask but it was pretty good (NBSS 3.5). Not one to take your maiden aunt to, but I’ve been in much worse locals boozers.

A traditional Marston's pub with two Banks ales on handpump. The bar faces you as you enter. There was a small snug on the left with maroon banquette seating. A seated dining area was set out beyond the bar. No music being played on our visit, a couple of gaming machines spoiled the flow of the pub, as they were stuck in the front room near the bar and main entrance. The pub is mainly a local's pub and was friendly.
