Mock-Tudor styled pub with patio. Service was good and a mixed clientele were in. Four pulls of reasonably common real ales but the Bass was good, Still has some religious iconography on the walls from the previous owner and my last visit. Always worth a look.

Located down a fairly narrow and cobbled pedestrian street leading to the cathedral, which immediately lends it a bit of atmosphere that the interior manages to build on. It’s knocked-through a bit but separated areas remain and the front section has plenty of traditional varnished and carved wood, parquet flooring, and a Tudor style sandstone fireplace. The rear area is a bit more modern with exposed brick walls however it blends in nicely. Four casks from national stagers, my Bass was in good form (NBSS 3.5); mildly surprised there's no GBG listing. I enjoyed my stop. 7.5

Decent enough ale house down a cobbled pedestrian street. A bit of an anti climax after Barrels, as there was no atmosphere generated by the four other (and one dog) patrons.
Unusually, a Bass Premium on. This got my untappd/twitter followers excited, but stupidly I forgot to ask if this was a guest or permanent!
