Uninspiring modern gastro pub, no real ale on my visit.

A pretty building which contains an L-shaped open-plan upmarket modern bar, the type where you get a black napkin under your glass. Duck egg shades and leaded lattice windows. Tiled bar back with awful slogans painted on, urgh. Friendly Irish barman in situ. One ale, an Itchin Valley house beer in surprisingly good nick. The beer and the service were a pleasant surprise - maybe worth a look-in en route to the Black Boy if my visit was indicative. 5.5 - would have been a six without those dopey slogans.
