Went there Sunday lunchtime [because the Fox & Hounds was full to bursting]
The place was 3/4 empty, which I thought ominous for a sunny Sunday lunchtime. My doubts proved to be half right
There was a delay at the bar, only one person on at the time. We eventually ordered grub & beer
The beer selection was fairly mundane, the usual suspects available, John Smiths smooth etc
I opted for Summer Lightning which seemed a safe bet from those available. It was lovely
Food was on the pricey side, I had beer battered cod & chips [£8.95] & cheese and biscuits [ a rip off at 3.95]
The cod & chips was ok ish, had better and had worse, sort of can't complain but could not praise it, and it took ages to arrive, good job they were not busy

Recently opened after extensive refurbishment, this 17th centuary coachhouse offers good quality beer in an 'open' environment. Large garden with decked area. A plasma screen in the main lounge rather spoils the ambience but the food is reasonable and it's a favourite setting for working lunches and Friday evenings in summer with the kids.
