Looming building with an imposing exterior set in a large plot as noted below. Shame that the interior within is a dull opened -out nothingness with no character (the brick arches aside), decorated in a vile mint green and mushroom paint job with cheap-looking laminate flooring. Colourful picked glass in some areas hints at nicer times past. Over-loud modern music at odds with the middle-aged clientele. To be fair, there was friendly atmosphere otherwise and we got a ‘hello’ from a couple of people. Pool table spotted. Two ales; TT Golden Best (under-par) and Doom Bar. As the only pub in the town, I guess this where the squaddies hang out which might explain the lack of creature comforts?

The Ram is a dreadful squaddie pub which sits on a large corner plot, the only pub in the large garrison town of Tidworth. The building is a pleasant 1930s(?) house with two bars and a large garden. It has no real ale and serves to keep the soldiers drunk, the local boys bruised and the police (civilian and military) in a job. It is basic and rough, but otherwise unremarkable. I see no reason to come here (unless you like fighting and megekeg beer) as there are much better pubs within 3 miles in all directions.
