Rather larger inside than it looks, with a very low frontage, this proved to be a very rumbustious locals' pub with pool, darts and live music. The three hand pumps looked promising until I spotted there was only a Doom Bar clip and even this proved to be not on, so back to the Neck Oil. The naff interior did nothing for me, and neither did the shouty customers. Can't say I'll bother returning.

Amazingly low ceilinged place, barely over 6ft clearance (but don’t assume this is due to ancient beams, oh no - it’s plasterboard!). Multi area’d interior layout best described as a lower case y-shape. Looks pretty battered in places. Pool and old sit-down arcade machine game spotted. Mounted football shirts seemingly the décor of choice with Glasgow Rangers predominating for some reason. Basic rear patio/decking alongside oddly placed weeping willow and table football. Motor racing on TV competing with UB40s greatest hits. Three pumps with two on, Doom Bar and an impressively drinkable Adnams Broadside. Shame the décor didn’t match the beer, really!

Another New Landlord, shame they keep changing. Still a nice place, getting busier but also getting quite expensive. I still use it.
