A nice-looking Georgian pub with an attractive frontage and small front patio area that is very popular on good weather days, internally it’s a central rambling bar with several distinct areas radiating off it. Bear wooden floors throughout, there’s a couple of pleasant seating areas with some exposed brick and good-looking fireplaces that were not required on this balmy July evening.
Three handpumps on the go for my visit with TT Landlord GK Abbott and St Austell Proper Job, a solid but not spectacular line up. Then also some mainstream keg options but I did spot Beavertown Neck Oil and Sharps Atlantic Pale Ale on the keg taps. The Proper Job was on fine form, and I did manage to get one of the outside spots to enjoy it.

A comfortable, nicely put together backstreet pub with a loungey feel about it despite the presence of a pool table.
A few locals in on a mid Saturday afternoon. Five handles on the bar but just two on, Pride and Landlord, the keg was also mainstream.
Pleasant enough.

A better-than-average back street local in a splendid Georgian house, whose single T-shaped bar has rambled a bit through the building over the years. The bar is floorboarded and rather pleasant. It has a pool table in one leg of the T, while the other is raised and used as a dining area. There is also a repro late-Victorian fireplace. The staff were very welcoming, while the locals were friendly and convivial. Apart from the pool, entertainment was provided by gaming machines and a chess/draughts table, while the jukebox was quite tolerable. Three ales on, Summer Lightning, which tasted a but strange but was still quite drinkable, Doombar and Landlord, which were predictably good. Happy to visit any time and include in a crawl.
