Originally The Navigator, it’s now officially called Harper’s Steakhouse. There is a large car park at the side, and there is an outside seating area at the back, though it falls sort of being a garden as such, just a paved terrace. Inside, the single large bar has a timber-fronted servery which tries and fails to look like a boat. There are private dining rooms as well, but we didn’t see these. As the name suggests, they concentrate on food rather than being wet-led. No real ale or cider, and only one craft ale, Meantime IPA. The staff were pleasant but it all felt a bit contrived and was certainly over-priced. I’ll navigate away from this one.
