Strongers . left this review about The Hobbit
The Hobbit is a dimly lit pub with bare board throughout and lots of exposed brick which sits well with the Lord of the Rings vibe, yes there are lots of shields and swords on the walls. There is seating to the left of the entrance, and to the right where there’s also a fireplace. The serving counter across the rear wall supports standard and premium keg alongside Neck Oil and three hand pumps, two of which were in use drawing Doom Bar and Old Rosie cider. There is some sunken seating in the right rear and I noted some Star Wars stuff knocking about for good measure. No televisions were seen, but there was some very random background music playing. Out the back is a surprisingly large split-level beer garden with picnic tables, and also the gent’s toilets that have some comedy saloon doors through which the urinals can be viewed easily from the garden. This place isn’t really my cup of tea, but the service was polite and it is a safe space for students who choose not to follow the mainstream.
