Surprisingly adequate Hungry Horse with a separate section for adult drinkers alongside the family dining bit (and Wacky Warehouse play area). Not unpleasant for a modern build and benefits from lots of space. Abbot, IPA and Speckled Hen on handpump in fair condition.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Farmhouse
Large but dull Hungry Horse outlet with a wide variety of seating / dining areas (one notionally children-free) and very busy even later on a Friday evening. Also serves the adjoining Greene King budget hotel. Multiple duplicated handpumps offering IPA and Abbot plus Hogs Back TEA and the local Irving Frigate (£1.85, half).

A Hungry Horse (I wonder if their postcode is a coincidence) as described below, so you have a good idea of what to expect. There is a garden at the rear with children's play apparatus and a small smoking terrace at the front from which smoke drifts into the bar. At one side is a large 'Horseplay' area, adjacent to the restaurant, while the other side is the bar which has an anteroom with a pool table. There are the usual gaming machines and overloud jukebox. They try to be a good local, holding various events such as quiz nights, karaoke and (you couldn't make this up) Slimmers' World evenings. Food was below average but served with an apologetic smile by a cheerful waitress. Three ales on draught, all from GK: IPA, Speckled Hen and London Glory, all desperately over-gassed and predictably bland. Not the worst HH and there's a decent sized car park at least.
