Revisited before the Darts/Basingstoke play off semi. Well what a downturn. Most of the lights were off or blown and the place has got very grubby round the edges which added to the dinginess. Only one ale (Caledonian Flying Scotsman) which was verging on the undrinkable. The terrible music choice was perhaps to be expected. There were a few people in, though not sure how many were off to the ground so hard to judge the popularity of the place these days. If the same people are still running the pub from my previous visit I would be surprised and disappointed.

Respectable pub serving the 60’s build estate behind it though is located on the main road. Looks a little intimidating from the outside but I quite enjoyed myself in here watching the second half of England vs Switzerland. My beer (Marstons) was in good shape. Sat at a nice raised area which was surrounded by brass railings. The pub was clean and well-kept inside and has a very unusual honeycomb/hexagonal shape. The entrance doorway to the right has some nice architectural touches. Clientèle were almost exclusively middle-aged blokes. If I venture out beyond the Queens Arms/Way Inn axis again I'd give this one a call. (6)

Not the most of exciting of pubs in my opinion. Definitely looks gloomy from the outside. It is however acceptable once inside.
