Well the death knell appears to have sounded here - it was closed yesterday and the landlord in the Lardicake next door said it was going to be converted into a shop.

A rather bare and sparcely furnished, untidy, big square room with more seating to one side, yet another pub that has fallen victim to careless “modernisation” over the years as the residual walls testify. A bit of a mish mash of decorating styles, some modern panelling, some bare walls, a corner that looks like a proper pub with dart board and another with the pool table, screens and machines. There was also a pile of kit in one corner suggesting live music although none was advertised. One hand pump with a reversed London Pride clip otherwise the same range of beers we all know only too well. The décor and choice of drinks probably describes the customer base quite eloquently.
