A lively local with limited opening hours. The building is Victorian and has a limited carpark at the side. There is a good sized covered seating area at the front used by smokers and al fresco drinkers. Inside, the downstairs rooms have been knocked through to form a large bar and a smaller games room at the side. The latter has a pool table, the former is good for seating and standing to enjoy a beer and some robust banter. Two pumps on the bar,one dry, the other dispensing Doombar, which was in good condition. It’s very much a locals’ pub and it’s only open for a limited time at weekends, so it’s not somewhere I’m likely to seek out again, especially given the parking difficulties.
