Large local 1930s-style pub on a corner just off the main road. It's quite homely, despite its size. Mainly carpeted, a few comfy seats and a complete lack of ostentation make it a relaxing place to be despite the TV screen showing live football on Sky, jukebox and gaming machines which were kept relatively quiet. A single handpump on the bar had a reversed Courage clip, so we had to revert to bottled beers – 3 choices, I plumped for Spitfire, my colleagues for Doombar. The locals were quite civilised by Aldershot standards (apart from one smelly arsehole, but I suppose, like mammals, most pubs have one), the staff were pleasant, and the WiFI worked. There was also a pool table and dartboard. A decent local, but not much to gush about.
