The Royal Sovereign is a Flaming Grill pub that I visited late on Wednesday afternoon. Outside the pub is a picnic strewn lawn that sits behind hedges that shield the garden from the busy adjacent road. Inside the pub the bar on the rear wall is bookended by seating areas and faces a pool table next to the entrance. Televisions are located throughout for watching live sports. There is a function room advertisement and a quiz is held here every Thursday. The bar is stocked with standard and premium keg and the menu for this chain revolves around grilled meat. I had a mixed grill which was actually good value for money. This pub is contender for friendliest service in Eccles, and this is from all the staff.
