Locals, end of terrace pub. Front bar area for drinkers, knocked through area for dining and a nice looking little snug room.

Friday lunch and a handful of jolly locals propping up the bar entertaining each other with cheesy jokes.

This is a GBG 2024 pub. Most beers on were from Millstone brewery. The pump clips offer no clue to the style, so I asked about "Tiger Rut".

Told it was a bitter. It was an exceptionally cold Golden Ale.

The majority of the drinkers on our visit were locals, with a handful of Ale Trailers out on the front benches. This is a traditional pub with the bar positioned along the left hand side back wall. A decent sized lounge area running from the front to back of the pub on the right and a more private looking front lounge on the left of the front entrance accessible from opposite the bar area. The walls throughout the pub were painted in cream with mushroom coloured painted woodwork. Eight handpumps, with seven in use, so we went for the Donkeystone Cotton Clouds at £3.10 a pint, which was excellent. Food is served in here, three times a week, on Wednesday/Friday/Sunday.

Visited November 2017 around lunch time on a Wednesday. I don't think food is served every day, but it was when I was there. Lots of pensioners seemed to be tucking in to presumably reasonably priced meals and they seemed to be enjoying the food. I didn't stay for food, but at the bar there was Lemon Dream by Salopian, Bad Ass by Donkeystone, Tiger Rut by Millstone and a few nationals that I can't remember. A good selection. My Lemon Dream was £1.45 for a half and rather enjoyable. I'd be happy to go back.
