I had thought that Indian restaurants were just about the food...until I visited Vamasaki. The location itself is superlative - on the top of Grains Bar, with views across Saddleworth in one direction and Shaw in the other, it is certainly located where you could build up an appetite with a walk...if that takes your fancy. When you enter, the friendly staff and the modern decor give a good first impression. Looking at the menu, you are faced with an array of choices. I personally haven't tried the "usual" curries - why bother when there are so many fusion dishes and traditional bangladeshi fish dishes to try? Especially when they are all so tasty!! The quality of the food here is demonstrated by the volume of diners whenever it's open

Staff friendly, chicken tikka starter ok,sheek kebab starter ok,chicken madras awful, chicken rogan josh awful, chicken makhan awful ,chicken korma ok (coconutty).Strangely all the rubbish curries tasted sour/cheesy.The chicken makhan even had melted cheese on it!the madras was fairly hot with barely a taste of curry,as if no garam masala or normal spice mixture was in it,I have never had curries like these in 30 years and will not visit again .Maybe the chef was off and the cleaner was doing the cooking.Definiately a place to remember not to visit.I imagine this place will be displaying under new management soon if this is going to be the standard.
