Called in 3rd of Jan had the worst pint of THEAKSTONS BITTER IN MY LIFE. It had started to turn us older end will know the days before lager and the Watney red revolution days. Use to get half in a pint glass and pour a bottle of light ale in or a brown ale in used to call it a split.
You did not moan about it just got on with it The Landlords were the boss no back chat of the young uns or you was out
I Told the young girl it was not right she said no one else had complained i said there's only me drinking bitter she carried on making cups of coffee.
So i left it and went it looked a nice pub but will call again

I used to visit this pub when it was The Railway, but this was my first visit since the refurbishment and name change. There are 2 rooms, the tap room to the left and the lounge to the right, both served by the central bar. The tap room is quite small and there were a bunch of regulars crowded round the bar on my visit early on a Friday evening. The lounge was quieter and has quite a few menus around, but no-one was eating although they were serving food. There's a raised area in the lounge set up with dining tables and a couple of comfy chairs & tables on the lower level There was one solitary handpump on the bar serving Theakstons Best, one of the blandest beers ever brewed. Even then when I eventually got served it was a pretty poor pint. When I used to pub crawl though Shaw we used to start off here. I won't be bothering with this place at all if we ever crawl though again.
