The Horton Arms is another JW Lee's pub that sits adjacent to the A627(M) motorway. It has two car parks on either side of the road.
They appeared to have been hosting some kind of function and certainly seem to be a popular place for dining, with most tables either occupied or reserved.
Whilst I didn't venture far from the bar area, apart from a trip to the toilets, I could see that the interior has been split into multiple different parts, all with a cosy feel.
Service was cheery and professional and the range of Lee's ales was better than I had expected, with the regular Bitter, Dark & MPA being supplemented by a couple of their new beers for 2022 - Malt Crush & Dray Rumble. I was expecting something a bit maltier from my Malt Crush and was not too convinced by it.
But at least the ale range was more adventurous than the average JW Lee's hostelry. I was surprised to see that this pub has not made it into the Good Beer Guide since 2010.

Called in on a very chilly evening just before Halloween and the Pub had been decorated out in that theme for a forthcoming party night. The place was lovely and warm with an overall pleasant ambiance. Locally they have a good reputation for meals and bar snacks. There is a car on the opposite side of the road and also to the left of the premises. Access for those with a mobility disability is not a problem.
I would have given a higher rating only my pint of J.W.Lees Original Lager was not up to scratch (I drink enough of it to know) so on this particular visit I have to deduct a couple of points. However,do not let this deter you from calling in as overall its ales must be in good condition considering its popularity locally.
