Once upon a time several years ago this was a thriving community local. They had a couple of real ales on the bar, one of which was always Phoenix Wobbly Bob. They used to have a sign up in the bar "Buy 6 pints of Wobbly Bob tonight and get a free taxi home within 3 miles". The pub itself hasn't changed that much, the decor certainly hasn't even had a lick of paint and the carpet in the lounge is now a sticky mess. There's still a pool table dominating the room straight ahead as you enter. The lounge is to the left where there's a real fire plus a quiz machine and a fruit machine. No real stuff on the bar now, so I had a half of Carling. The barmaid was friendly enough but she was having to deal wth a bunch of high visibility jacket wearing, loud, foul mouthed regulars when I called early on a Friday evening. It's a very poor place now and I don't think I'll call in again unless something changes dramatically.
