A massive Lees house, very near the site of a previous pub with the same name, but with loads more character. It's pretty much a chain dining pub now, with menus on every table. The room to the right as you enter is a bit more pubby. The main room is on several levels with lots of nooks and crannys despite being one big room really. There's a massive outdoor space next to the canal, but also next to the very busy Broadway. Seceral handpumps on the bar, but only Lees Bitter and MPA available. The bitter was a decent pint (for Lees). I was here late on a Friday afternoon, so by the time I left there were lots of office workers calling in for a post work pint. It's not for me, but some will like it.

Three ales on cask, the Phantom (Pale Ale) was presumably the JW Lees seasonal offering, sat alongside the more familiar MPA and Bitter. The Phantom was OK but nothing to get excited about. More of a food orientated pub than a drinkers' den.

This is a new J.W. Lees house, although there has been a pub on this site for hundreds of years. Suffers from terrible management, currently the J.W. Lees bitter is excellent although in the recent past it has been hit and miss.
