Somewhat formulaic pub with excellent river frontage, with emphasis on food. Refurbished in standard modern style, with lots of light wood and grey panelling, so lacking a bit in character. Large outdoor area on riverbank, heavily-tabled in summer. The food is of fairly good quality if not exciting, but the beers (from Wadsworth) were a little disappointing despite Cask Marque listing. The Blunderbuss autumn beer was decidedly off and replaced without question; the Swordfish was tolerable without being great. Sticky tables were also a sign of lack of attention to detail. Room for improvement.
