Not as characterful an interior as some of the other local pubs but did the job as part of a crawl. 2 real ales.

Craft Union pub with two hand pumps but the solitary pump clip turned around because the Boondoggle had run out but the replacement not arrived. No alternative keg beer appealed to me, and I ended up with a Jack Daniels. Seems like pretty poor cellar management. Looks like I dodged a bullet here.

An ordinary, traditional high street pub, a former coaching inn, with a strong local following. Robust banter, lively buzz and a convivial atmosphere. There was a bingo game in full swing when we arrived, and there was horse racing on the telly. It’s a bit frayed around the edges, and the bucket of fag ends by the door isn’t attractive, but once inside it’s welcoming though it was difficult to find a seat as so many groups had staked their claim. Ales on were Hobgoblin Gold and Doombar, both in fair condition. OK to weigh in for a swift one on a crawl or if you’re a local.
