There was a good mix of locals and visitors in this Stow pub overlooking The Square. Although, I'm not sure the locals particularly appreciate the influx of outsiders. I certainly got a few strange looks.

This is quite a popular pub. The front bar is fairly traditional with a cartwheel suspended from the ceiling and stone walls. Locals were congregated here near the window. A rear room was where most of the visitors were heading for meals, which seemed quite pricy.

This is another Donnington Brewery pub with BB & Cotswold Gold available in cask format. I'd had enough of their beers to try another one here. This may be the best pub in a fairly touristy town, but it's nothing special.

I'm sure I've been here before but it must have been in the early 00s, before I started writing pub reviews. I have some recollection of it being somehow smaller and darker then, there seems to have been an opening up on the left hand side, with a wide passage (with two or three tables) on the way to the garden at the back. There was a scrum at the bar, people who don't know how to behave in pubs standing around with G&Ts and their elbows sticking out, when there were plenty of seats being ignored. The choice at the bar, this being a Donnington pub, was BB or Cotswold Gold. I went for the BB, which had failed to clear, like the same beer in Guiting Power earlier in the day. What is it with this brewery?

Busiest pub in Stow - having stayed the night for the first time. This may not be down to the beer quality but the beer price. About 30% cheaper than anywhere else.

A gorgeous country boozer in an open plan format, surrounding a central bar. Nice beer garden.
