If you're into real ale and steam railways, then The Harvest Home is the pub for you. We've passed this pub on a few occasions, but decided to venture inside yesterday evening. There was a slight glitch with the hand pumps, which were temporarily non operational, but the cheerful bar staff happily served us bottled beer.
The first indication that this pub has connections with railways from a bygone era, is the scale model of The Flying Scotsman resting on a windowsill, the pub is also a stones throw away from Winchcombe railway station. The pub's interior is fairly modern, with a separate dining area. If you're into Thai cuisine, The Harvest Home has an extensive Thai menu. We elected to sample this on another occasion.
The highlight of our evening, was sitting in the beer garden as the intermittent evening sunshine, cast it's warm glow across manicured fields and railway tracks which run at the back of the pub. How magnificent it must be to sit outside and watch the trains roll by.
