A biggish pub modernised but looking a bit scruffy now. An L shaped room with an L shaped counter, three high T-bars of usual keg stuff and five pulls with crisp white handles serving three beers from Arkells, a cider and a beer from Donnington. This was the primary reason to visit this pub as I’ve found Donnington’s beers elusive for decades. There’s a load of mismatched pine furniture as well as a bit of soft furnishing in cloth and leather. Beyond the counter the place goes down a couple of steps to a bit with more mismatched furniture including banquettes. It’s not all grey, there’s a bit of light green to contrast and the ceiling is white although someone’s gone to town with the lighting. Outside is a huge garden with canopies and walls and everything, very popular it is too.

A large corner pub with a L shaped lounge and plenty of well positioned and comfortable seating areas. I thought the main bar area with a polished brass counter top and a distressed painted front to be the main focal point. Another plus was that their were coat hooks along the bar front. The large hanging brass lamps along the bar and large front windows gave this pub more character.
Five handpumps with three from Arkells, Donnington Cotswold Gold and a cider. We went for the Donnington Gold, which was in good shape.
