A traditional pub with an L shaped wood beamed bar with the usual fittings, plus the unfortunately standard pool table and large television. There is a restaurant area at the back. Normally, there are four real ales available, the food looks O.K., and the staff are friendly. A couple of niggles are the music is CD based and consists of the wierd choice of the staff that they turn up to loud when they want to clear the place, and the only access to the outside seating areas at the front and back is from inside the pub. This means that if you are for example enjoying a drink in the rear patio area a few feet from your car and want to fetch something from it, you have to walk back into the pub through one door, out to the car park through another, and repeat the process on the way back. Overall though, this was the best all round pub we visited in the area, and worth a visit.
