The phrase 'do not judge a book by it's cover' does not apply here. The outside view is unattractive, and it certainly does not improve once you walk through the front door. There is a large L shaped bar with the left hand part forming the Indian restaurant. It looks like the place was built in the 1960's, and the decor and furniture look like they have been there since then. The pub and restaurant are not separate entities, so you are served your drinks at the bar by the same staff who would deliver your curry. This was an interesting experience, as in the absence of any real ales, I asked for the cheapest lager, and was pointed towards the John Smiths Extra Smooth beer. One of the female staff at another establishment told me it was 'a good place to go for a curry and a fight'. It has a local nickname, but I will not include it in this review! In summary, Viz magazine could garner lots of material here, and I have given it one star because it is worth that for the experience!
