The Havering Council website shows that various planning permissions were granted in the 2nd quarter of 2016 for improvements and a refurbishment. I assume that is why it closed.

The Archers is a nice looking pub with a long frontage,it is almost opposite the Unicorn.
Once inside there is a single room which runs the width of the pub,the floor is carpeted,the seating is normal tables and chairs and bench seating with cushions on them,there was a TV to the left showing tennis from Wimbledon,the right side seems more of a dining area.
The pub is a Greene King tied house,there were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of GK IPA which was a decent enough drink,there was also GK Abbot on.
There was background music playing.
I though this was a pleasant enough pub to have a drink in.
