Large branch of Wetherspoon's on the main road through Leigh-on-Sea. This one used to be an old pub and still has its own car park, one of those where you have to enter your registration on a machine inside.
The seating area wraps almost all the way around the central bar. There are the usual cheap meals and drinks. Whilst there were lots of staff, there was the usual wait to be served. There were also loads of kids. But plus points wer a reasonable size outdoor drinking area to the front with a handily placed bus stop outside too.
The trio of doom (Greene King Abbot, Ruddles Best & Sharp's Doom Bar) were all present. Guest beers were Nethergate Masterpiece, Woodforde's Nog, Rooster's Yankee & Coach House Post Horn. My Masterpiece was distinctly ordinary. On the cider front, there was Gwynt y Ddraig Black Dragon & Weston's Old Rosie & Rosie's Pig.

Unapologetic old skool Timbo Tavern which is a conversion from a previous pub in the mid 90s, hence the non-personalised name. U shaped interior with plenty of booths, dark wood, glass, quality carpet - you know the score - all kept well. Decent outside seating area as well. Four guest cask though the app didn't match up with reality, seems to be a bit of a Essex curse. My Brentwood SPA started in decent nick but died fairly rapidly in the glass (NBSS 2.5). Good atmosphere. 6.5

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Elms (JD Wetherspoon)
Very large suburban roadhouse with a hint of brewer's Tudor; little changed externally, but given the typical 'spoons treatment inside. Features an overall 'L'-shaped bar with the usual selection of booths and larger seating areas. Also has some patio tables out front. Three banks of six handpumps, but quite a few duplicates and 'available son's; and, even more annoyingly, at least two interesting beers that appeared to be on but were not... In the end, opted for the local St George's Brickfields IPA (£2.30) which was decent enough, but I was left with the strong impression that the management could do a lot better here.
