It was a little intimidating being sized up by the large group of lads outside that were fading there England tattoos in the midday sun, but once past the picket fence and into the pub I found the crowd to be much friendlier. The barman was polite and it was interesting to see a large parrot pruning itself sitting beside its large cage – a first for me in a pub. There are a couple of pool tables, a dartboard and some plasma screens for the football on Sky Sports.

Both of the hand pumps were unused on this visit leaving only a selection of standard draught, but the Guinness was good.

I liked it in here and would go back again if in the area.
